Step-by-Step Guide: How to Operate the Insta360 Flow Gimbal

This user guide details the assembly, power, mode switching, and button controls for operating the Insta360 Flow smartphone stabilizer.

Step 1: Mount the Smartphone

  1. Attach the Magnetic Clamp: Stretch the magnetic phone clamp to fit around the middle of your smartphone. Ensure the camera icon on the clamp points toward your phone’s camera lenses.
  2. Align the Alignment Marks: Align the alignment mark on the magnetic phone clamp with the notch on the gimbal’s mounting point.
  3. Secure Attachment: Magnetically snap the phone clamp onto the gimbal arm. Ensure the phone is balanced and held securely before unfolding.

Step 2: Unfold and Power On

  1. Unfold the Gimbal: Hold the pan arm and pull the handle down in one smooth movement. Unfolding automatically powers on the gimbal.
  2. Verify Power Status: Check the SmartWheel indicator lights; all lights will illuminate briefly upon successful boot.
  3. Fold to Power Off: Push the handle back up toward the pan arm to automatically shut down and secure the unit.
